Stand and Be Still

"Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore stand in awe of God." {Ecc. 5:7}

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." {Ps. 37:7}

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." {Ps. 46:10}

My roommate often comments that I don't know how to be still, not in motion or doing something. And i admit that i don't enjoy being still; I have to be doing something with my hands and mind at all times. Even in my quiet time i sometimes struggle to remain silent, thoughtless in order for the Prince of Peace to invade my private life. When i zip my mouth shut and settle my brain into complete listening mode, then my spirit reaches the heart of Christianity.
